Ghost keeps Code Injection outside the theme, which means the widget survives a theme swap — an advantage over the WordPress footer.php route, where a theme update silently removes your tag.

Where the tag goes
Settings, then Code Injection, then the Site Footer field. Paste and save.
The line looks like this: <script src="https://eteon.net/v1.js" data-bot-id="YOUR_BOT_ID" defer></script>
Site Footer rather than Site Header, so the script is fetched after your content has rendered.
Members-only content
Eteon crawls what is publicly visible. Posts gated behind a Ghost membership tier are not crawled, so the bot will not quote from paid content — which on a subscription publication is the correct behaviour, not a limitation.
What a publication bot is actually good at
Answering questions about your archive, your subscription tiers, and what you have covered on a subject. Readers ask "have you written about X" constantly, and a search box answers that badly.
It will not invent an article
Asked about something you have not published, it says so. A model that improvises a plausible-sounding citation to your own publication is a reputational problem, not a helpful assistant.
Frequently asked questions
Does it survive a Ghost theme change?
Yes. Code Injection is stored at the site level, not in the theme, so swapping themes does not remove it.
Can it read my members-only posts?
No. The crawl sees what an anonymous visitor sees. Paid posts stay out of the bot’s knowledge.
Will the widget slow my Ghost site down?
The tag is deferred, so the browser finishes laying out and painting your page before it is fetched or executed. Nothing about your page waits on it, and if it fails to load your site is unaffected.
Do I need a developer?
No. You copy one line from your Eteon dashboard and paste it into Ghost's own code field. There is nothing to build, no package to install, and no framework requirement.
What does it cost?
