What a chatbot actually costs in India
Most pages answering this question are written by agencies quoting project ranges. This one quotes a subscription price and then tells you when the agency is still the right answer.

Search for chatbot development cost in India and you get quotes shaped like a project: a range, a set of phases, and a call to discuss requirements. The range is wide because it is describing bespoke software, where the cost is developer time and the number depends on how much of it you buy.
That is a real answer to a different question. If what you need is a bot on your website that answers customer questions from your own content, you are not buying developer time. You are buying a subscription, and the price is knowable before you speak to anybody.
What drives an agency quote
A custom build prices developer hours: discovery, conversation design, integration work, testing, and then a maintenance retainer that is easy to forget when comparing the headline figure. The retainer is usually the part that decides whether the project was worth it.
The reason the range is wide is that "chatbot" covers everything from a scripted FAQ tree to a system wired into an ERP. Nobody can quote it without scoping it, which is why the pages ranking for this query end at a contact form.
What a subscription costs instead
Eteon Starter is ₹1,999 a month, billed monthly, and includes 10,000 messages, a crawl of up to 100 pages with live sync, agent handover, and your own branding, theme and colours.
There is no discovery phase, because the bot is built from your website rather than from a specification. You enter a URL, it crawls, you paste one script tag. The setup cost is the time it takes to read this paragraph.
Higher volume moves up rather than out: Pro is ₹2,999 for 20,000 messages, and Enterprise is ₹3,499 for 35,000 messages with unlimited bots and seats.
Where the per-conversation model bites
The pricing to read carefully is not the monthly figure but the unit. Several platforms bill per resolution or per conversation, which means a good month — more traffic, more questions answered — produces a larger invoice.
Eteon bills per message against a monthly allowance. Twenty thousand messages costs the same whether they arrive in one week or four, and a busy month does not become a budgeting conversation.
When you should still pay an agency
If the bot has to write into an ERP, drive a workflow inside a legacy system, or hold a conversation designed around a regulated script, that is bespoke software and a subscription product will not do it. Pay for the build.
If it has to answer questions your website already answers, qualify enquiries, look up an order, and hand over to a person when it is out of its depth — that is the subscription, and a build is six figures of the same outcome.

Is there a one-time setup fee?
No. The price is the monthly subscription. There is no onboarding fee, no implementation charge, and no minimum contract term on monthly billing.
Do you quote in rupees or dollars?
Rupees. Starter is ₹1,999 a month. Pricing is set in INR rather than converted from a dollar list price at checkout.
What happens if I go over the message allowance?
The allowance is 10,000 messages a month on Starter and the plans above it carry more. If your volume consistently exceeds the plan, the answer is the next plan rather than an overage bill that arrives as a surprise.
Is there a free trial?
30 days, no card required to build one. You can point it at your own site, talk to the bot it produces, and decide from that rather than from a pricing table.
Can I remove the Eteon badge from the widget?
On Starter and during the trial, no — the widget carries a small "Powered by Eteon" line, and clicking it opens our site. That link is part of what the entry plan costs. From Pro upwards there is no badge at all: nothing in the widget names us, and there is no setting to find because there is nothing to turn off.
