Adding chatbots to the sites you build for clients
For freelancers and small studios shipping client websites. The economics work on one subscription rather than one per client — and the part that does not work is stated up front.
₹1,999/month · 10,000 messages · no per-seat or per-resolution fee
A freelancer building websites has a recurring problem at handover: the client asks whether the site can answer questions when nobody is at a desk. The honest answer has usually been to install somebody else's widget, which means the client signs up for a plan you do not control and you never see any of it again.
The alternative is running the bots yourself. That only works if the pricing does not multiply by client count, which is the specific thing to check before building a service around any tool.
The number that matters is bots per plan
Enterprise at ₹3,499 a month includes unlimited bots, unlimited team seats and unlimited agents, with 35,000 messages a month shared across them and unlimited crawling.
For a freelancer with a handful of low-traffic client sites, that is one subscription covering all of them rather than one per client. The messages pool, so a quiet client costs nothing and a busy one draws from the same allowance.
If you are running a single site — your own, or one client — Starter at ₹1,999 for 10,000 messages is the plan, and the ladder in between exists for the middle.
Whose name is on the widget
From Pro upwards, nobody's. The widget carries no Eteon branding — no badge, no link, nothing in the corner. Colours, theme, launcher and copy are yours to set, so it reads as part of the site you built.
On Starter, and while an account is still inside its trial, there is a small "Powered by Eteon" line that opens our site when clicked. That link is part of the price of the entry plan. If a client site is going to live on Starter, tell them the line is there before you install it rather than after they notice.
What none of the plans do is let you present Eteon as your own product with your logo inside our dashboard. Your client never needs an account or a login — the bot lives on your account — but the tool behind it is ours and the invoice comes from us.
Setup per client is one URL and one tag
Point it at the client's site, let it crawl, paste one script tag into the template. There is no per-client configuration project, no conversation tree to design, and nothing to maintain when the client edits their own pages — the crawl re-syncs.
That is what makes it viable as an add-on rather than a second engagement. The billable time per client is minutes, so it can be a line on a retainer instead of a project that needs its own quote.
What the client actually gets
Answers drawn from their own pages, policies and PDFs rather than invented. Enquiries captured with the context of the conversation attached. Order status lookup where there is a Shopify store behind it. Handover to a person when it is out of its depth.
It does not fabricate to keep somebody talking. For a freelancer this matters more than it sounds: the bot is on your client's site with your name attached to the decision to put it there.
Frequently asked questions
Can I resell this to clients under my own brand?
You can install it, manage it and bill for it however you like, and on any paid plan the widget carries no Eteon branding — the client sees a chat assistant on their own site with your colours on it. What you cannot do is present the Eteon dashboard itself as your product: you hold the account, the client does not log in, and the invoice for the subscription comes from us to you.
Do I need a separate account per client?
No, and that is the point. Enterprise at ₹3,499 includes unlimited bots and seats, so every client site runs from one account with one message allowance between them. Agency raises that allowance to 250,000 for studios running enough clients to need it.
How do I know which client used the allowance?
The Usage screen in the dashboard breaks the month down per bot, sorted by spend. A pooled allowance is only workable if you can see the split — otherwise the first month one client's sale eats the pool, you have no way to know which one it was, and no way to have the conversation.
What happens when one client outgrows the shared allowance?
The allowance is shared, so a single high-traffic client can consume it. The Usage screen shows that happening while there is still month left, which is when the conversation is worth having — at that point that client needs their own subscription, or you need the next plan up.
Is there a free trial?
30 days, no card required to build one. You can point it at your own site, talk to the bot it produces, and decide from that rather than from a pricing table.
